To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world.
My Philosophy on School Counseling
I intend and envision myself to be the advocate for all of my students to make school a place they feel comfortable and safe. I want to bring in my empathy for those struggling, passion for helping, and my love for music and art into my practice. I strive to be that safe place that students, teachers, and administrators seek out. I also want to encourage and teach my students resiliency. Resilience can be learned and developed, and I believe that everyone is capable of overcoming obstacles.
Children are capable of changing their behaviors! With some help, they can learn to advocate for themselves in appropriate ways. I hope to be one of the people that can be there for them during these critical developmental years. By working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other important people in the child's life, change and growth are possible!
I follow the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) National Model. To learn more about this model, please refer to the ASCA National Model Executive Summary.
